Horse Racing Returns to the Sopot Hippodrome!

Coming to Sopot and looking for something beyond the usual tourist trail? Experience the atmosphere of a true Sopot summer!Over the next two weekends – 11–12 July and 18–19 July 2026 – the picturesque Sopot Hippodrome will transform into a vibrant venue filled with exciting horse racing and fun for the whole family.Visitors can also enjoy a variety of additional attractions, including dog races and the popular Hat Contest. The races begin daily at 3:00 p.m.Tickets are available at the ticket offices on Polna Street. Holders of the Sopot Resident Card (Karta Sopocka) can purchase tickets with a 50% discount.

The Sopot Horse Races have combined sporting tradition with the unique atmosphere of a summer picnic for many years. The picturesque Sopot Hippodrome will once again become a meeting place for residents and visitors, offering a spectacle that has been one of the symbols of Sopot summer for generations.The programme features exciting races for Thoroughbred horses, Purebred Arabian horses, and French Trotters. It is a unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the racecourse up close and cheer on the competitors as they race for victory on the Sopot track.

Hat Contest and Pembroke Race

Each weekend will also have its own unique highlight. On 18 July, the traditional Hat Contest will take place, with prizes awarded for the most original and elegant hats inspired by classic horse racing fashion.The day will also feature an attraction that is sure to win over the audience – the Great Sopot Pembroke Race, a fun-filled race for Welsh Corgi Pembroke dogs, organised in cooperation with the Sopot branch of the Polish Kennel Club.

19 July – Kashubian Day

On 19 July, Kashubian Day will give visitors the opportunity to discover the region's culture, music, and traditions. The sporting highlight of the day will be the Polish Cold-Blood Horse Championships, showcasing the strength, beauty, and remarkable abilities of these impressive animals.Kashubian Day is organised in partnership with the Association of Kashubian Coachmen and Horse Breeders.

Food Zone and Family Attractions
 
Throughout the event, visitors will be able to enjoy a food zone, attractions for children, and the opportunity to get a closer look at the world of horse racing. It is an excellent choice both for sports enthusiasts and for anyone looking for an enjoyable way to spend a summer afternoon in Sopot.The races will begin daily at 3:00 p.m. and continue until 8:00 p.m.

Tickets

Tickets are available at the ticket offices at the entrance from Polna Street. Holders of the Sopot Resident Card (Karta Sopocka) can purchase tickets with a 50% discount. Tickets can also be purchased online via the Eventim.pl platform.
